If my shy Year 7 self was able to look into the future now, I never would have thought that I would have the privilege of becoming Head Girl of Glenmoor and Winton Academies.
It is thanks to my supportive peers, encouraging family, inspirational teachers and the endless amount of opportunities that I have succeeded in becoming Head Girl, so I would like to say a huge thank you to the school.
Ever since day one in September 2013 when I was only 11 years old, I have entered those blue gates with a smile on my face and I leave them knowing that I have given 100% effort in everything. Over the next Academic year, one of the many goals that I aspire to achieve is to pass on this positive attitude to every student so that learning, homework and revision is seen as a hobby and not a chore. I believe that it is imperative that everyone feels happy, optimistic and at home when approaching school.
Along with the Academies' fantastic team of prefects and executives, we will strive to make a difference for the good and to be remembered. Across the year, we will work as a team as well as working with other students, teachers and parents. We will also encourage pupils to get involved with sports events, Inter-house competitions, the performing arts and unique opportunities such as The Duke of Edinburgh and Arts award.
As Head Girl, I promise that I will be there for you every step of the way and support everyone to make sure that they are happy inside and outside of school. Every student is unique and exceptionally hard working; I will make sure you are recognised for your enthusiasm.
This year, I would like us to strive as one big family so we can work to the best of our ability. I am thoroughly looking forward to getting to work as Head Girl so that I can make this year as fulfilled and memorable for everyone as possible.
Have a lovely Summer break and I will be welcoming all students, parents and teachers back for a new year in September.
Stay positive, work hard and make it happen.
