Welcome to Glenmoor and Winton Academies

Two successful, single-sex academies that enjoy a shared campus and teaching staff.

Many parents want their daughters to have the classroom benefits of single-sex education as well as the personal development which comes from co-education. Here at Glenmoor, our dedicated teaching staff understand that girls and boys learn in different ways and as such our girls achieve great results across the curriculum particularly in English, maths, humanities and expressive arts. Glenmoor Academy is a comfortable space in which girls can build and retain friendship groups, grow their self-esteem and enjoy their learning. They also enjoy extensive, inspiring extracurricular activities, sharing new experiences with those of different ages, from different backgrounds and growing in confidence and character.

What People Are Saying About Glenmoor

We were all thoroughly impressed with the School, especially having the opportunity to see it in action.
Feedback from Year 5 parent following a tour
Glenmoor and Winton are fantastic schools and one I have found to possess dedicated and committed staff and students. A great school.
Quentin Nason (former investment banker and now educational charity entrepreneur) from the Pay It Forward Initiative
My daughter is in Year 7 and, as any parent I was concerned about the transition from Primary to Senior school. I am really pleased with her achievements in her first year academically and in sport. I highly recommend Glenmoor Academy

The school is delightful. Young people often get a bad press, but in this visit I have been inspired by what the students are doing. Hugely enjoyable and I would love to return

We just wanted to say how impressed we were with all the staff who teach our daughter. It is clear that all the teachers have an excellent understanding of her not only academically but also on a personal level. We were absolutely delighted  and  very impressed with everything she has achieved in her first year at Glenmoor

Thought for the Week:

Resurrection: Crucifixion symbolises the death of the old; resurrection is a leap into the new (Deepak Chopra)

This week is the most important week in the Christian calendar: Holy Week. Christians in school and around the world will be celebrating Maundy Thursday: when Jesus ate the last supper with His disciples; Good Friday: the day when Jesus was crucified and, most importantly Easter Sunday: when Jesus rose from the dead. For Christians, this is a celebration of renewal and rebirth. The coming holidays should provide all of us with much needed rest and, whether we believe in the Easter story or not, it is a chance for us to renew ourselves physically and mentally.
