Technical Support

Please read the information below carefully. If your question has not been answered in the information below, please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk. Our helpdesk aims to respond to queries within 24 hours, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, excluding holidays.
  • Active Learn

Active Learn is used by our KS4 MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) students. Students should have been given a password by their MFL teacher.

    https://www.pearsonactivelearn.com/app/Home

If you are using ActiveLearn, you can use the self-help options to reset your password. If you have not set up any memorable questions and/or your teacher has not added an email address to your account, then these will unfortunately not work and you will need to ask your teacher to reset your password.

  • Bedrock Vocabulary

Bedrock Vocabulary https://app.bedrocklearning.org/ is used by KS3 students for English.

Students are issued with a unique username and password that are not linked to any of our other systems, and cannot be reset from home.

If a student has not been provided with a username and password, please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk

  • Hegarty Maths (KS4)

Hegarty Maths https://hegartymaths.com/ is our online maths platform for current KS4 students.

To log in visit https://hegartymaths.com/login/learner and enter the student's details.

If you have forgotten a password, it will need to be reset by a teacher. To request this, visit https://hegartymaths.com/login/learner and fill in the student details. There will then be a link to request a password reset from the teacher.

  • Office 365

Microsoft Office https://office.com is the software we use for the following:

    • Student emails. Students can send and receive emails using their own email. If they are wanting to contact teachers directly from home they must use their student email, not their personal email as we can't reply to those.
    • Microsoft Teams. The Academies use Teams for clubs, online learning and information sharing. Examples of our online clubs are Library and DofE.
    • Sharepoint/OneDrive. Students can store and share files with teachers and other students. This is particularly useful when sharing a large file with a teacher, for example music or multimedia homework.
    • Microsoft software. The Academies' license allows students to either use the online browser-based software or to download Microsoft software to their home computers. This includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Password resets for Show My Homework and Office.com (also for Seneca Learning if the account was set up using the 'Continue with Microsoft' option).

To reset a password from home, do the following:

    1. Visit https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
    2. Type in the student's email address
    3. This will then send a code to the method you selected when you set up the student's Office.com account for the first time. For some parents/students this will be Microsoft Authenticator, for others it will be a code sent to a mobile phone or email address.
    4. Create a strong password. It must be at least 8 characters long, with two numbers, a capital letter and a symbol. You cannot use any part of the school's name, student's name or common words such as 'password'. Please click here to read a guide on creating a strong password.

If you do not receive a code for a password reset, please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk.

It is important to note that this will also change the password for Show My Homework and the school computers.

If you have set up Seneca using the 'continue with Microsoft' option then it will change the password for this service as well.

  • Seneca Learning

Seneca Learning https://senecalearning.com is a tool that students use for revision and homework tasks.

To log in to Seneca for the first time, students will need their Microsoft Office details.

    1. Visit https://senecalearning.com
    2. Click 'Log In'
    3. Click 'Continue with Microsoft'
    4. Enter the student email address and password - this will be the same as the details set up for Office.com.

How to reset the Seneca Password

If logging in to Seneca with Microsoft Office:

If logging in to Seneca without Microsoft Office:

You will need to request a password reset for Seneca https://app.senecalearning.com/reset-password. The password reset email for Seneca gets sent to the student's email address at https://outlook.office.com.

If a student cannot access their school emails, then they will need a password reset, which will reset their Show My Homework and Office.com log in details. This password reset can be requested from smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk or by following the password reset steps above.

  • Show My Homework

    Show My Homework (Satchel One)

Show My Homework is the main platform where we set homework. Students can send messages to teachers, submit homework online, complete quizzes and mark off their set tasks on their to-do list.

    Username

It is important to note that the username is NOT the student's email address. The username is the first part of the student's email address. For example if the student's email address is jbloggs22@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk, the Show My Homework username would be jbloggs22.

    Password

Passwords are linked for Show My Homework and Office.com.

Please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk if you have not received a parent account code.

    Troubleshooting

    • Incorrect username - please ensure that you are not using the email address. jbloggs22@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk would be incorrect. jbloggs22 would be correct.
    • If quizzes are only displaying the first question or won't let a submission be made, it is likely that you are logged in to the parent account. Please log out of the account, clear the cache and log back in with the student's school account.
    • Errors when trying to view a page - please clear the cache following this guide and try signing in again (please note the guide opens in a new window)
    • Incorrect password - please use the same password that is used to sign in to the school computers and Office.com. Passwords are case sensitive - for example if your password is Password01 then you cannot sign in if you type password01. You cannot reset passwords from Show My Homework, it has to be done from the following page, using the student school email address: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
    • Homework from old set still showing - If your child has recently changed sets, it will only change homework moving forward from the date that the class was changed on Arbor (our MIS). Old homework from the previous set will remain on the calendar and task list until it is marked as completed on the task list by the student. It takes 24 hours to change to the new class or set after it is changed on Arbor.
Important note: Students must log in with their school account. Students cannot submit homework via the parents' account. You can check which account you are logged in to by looking at the top left hand side of the screen. If logged in to the child's account, their name and profile photo will be visible.

    5. If successful you can now sign in.

Parents will be sent a text message with information about the detention set. If you cannot find the original text message, parents are advised to log in to Arbor Parent Portal.

    https://login.arbor.sc/

If you have not yet logged in to Arbor Parent Portal, please click the link below and enter the email address you receive school communications to.

    https://login.arbor.sc/auth/reset-password

You will then be sent a link to reset your password.

Once you log in to Parent Portal you will be able to see your child's timetable, which contains the names of the teachers for each subject, as well as seeing the schedule for any detentions.

  • Who do I contact regarding my child's detention?

If you have a query regarding the detention, please contact the teacher who set the homework. A list of email addresses can be found on our Staff Contacts page.

If you know the subject for the detention but are unsure which teacher set the detention then we recommend first visiting Parent Portal, where you can view your child's timetable and a list of teachers. If you have not logged in to Parent Portal before, please visit https://login.arbor.sc/auth/reset-password and enter the email address you receive school communications to. You will then receive a password reset link which will allow you to log in.

Alternatively you can find a list of teachers by logging in to your parent account on Show My Homework. If you do not yet have a parent account, please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk for a code.

Please note that reception staff will be unable to answer any queries regarding detentions.

  • My child cannot attend their detention, who do I contact?

If your child is unable to attend a detention due to an appointment, please contact your child's Head of Year.

The Head of Year email addresses are available on our Staff Contacts page. We require evidence of the appointment to be sent to the Head of Year.

Please note that reception staff are unable to cancel or rearrange detentions, or provide any additional information about the detention.

  • My child is receiving a lot of homework detentions, who do I contact?

If your child is receiving multiple detentions and you are unsure why this is, or believe this is due to a technical issue, please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk.

Please note that reception staff are unable to provide any further information regarding technical issues with our homework platforms, or further information regarding detentions set.
